Wondering about BTA's

are there same anemone's within the species, like, not specifically, that just don't bulb? I have seen RBTA's with big falt bulbs, and some with just long tentacles. Mine I know is an RBTA but is has never bulbed at all. I see the same with other peoples, is that normal?

I have a whole bunch of clone brown E. quads in one of my tanks from a single parent, and only those in the brightest light have any bulbs. So in my case, at least, it is not genetic but environmental.
