Wondering if anyone can identify this strange Algae

Hello all. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but it seemed to be the closest fit. I ordered hermit crabs a few months back and one came with some strange small growths on it. Now it has spread across the entire shell and I was wondering what it is. It seems to be a very short tube with many strands branching off the end.

No idea what it is, but I have to say it looks pretty neat. This comes from someone who does not have this algae in their tank, you may not have the same view [emoji51]

Looks like hydroids not algae. I would scrub them off but not inside the tank. Remove the snail and scrub, rinse and return.
