Wondering if I can

Hello all,

I have a 90 gallon full reef for a few years, many inverts and 4 fish. Would a dwarf octopus, destroy the equilibrium of my tank as far as the inverts and fish?

What dwarf species are relativiely easy to take care of and readily available?

thanks guys

What kind of fish? What kind of inverts?

I don't think you would ever find a dwarf octopus in a 90 gallon. O. mercatoris is perhaps the most common dwarf species available currently and they are extremely nocturnal. An octopus as small as O. mercatoris would probably not be a threat to any fish, but fish could likely be a threat to it. Your inverts would most likely be food though.

After posting, I realized the question was too general ahah. It was late at night.

I have a few snails, limpets and such that were hitchhikers that thrived.. I have a Coral banded, and a scarlet skunk. I have a few small serpents, and 2 adult serpents.

I have a scopas tang, a regal, a goby, and a sixline wrasse.

As far as coral, I have probably too much too list. This setup has been accumulating for 6 years or so.

Thanks again guys

Also, A full size octo would be too big for my fish correct?

I was hoping a dwarf to just spice up the tank a little and add something.

Thanks again

An Abdopus aculeatus may do well in your tank. Don't be surprised if your shrimp come up missing, but I kept one with a few peppermint shrimp and they never disappeared, aslo a yellow Coris Wrasse and a blue-spotted Rabbitfish in the tank without any problems.

That's the only species I'd suggest trying it with though.

I think a six line would nip the legs.

Quite possible. One thing wrasse's are good at is finding and eating "worms".
