Wondering if you would still quarantine?

So. I have found an LFS that will drive 1/2 way to meet me for purchases. This is big news as there's nothing near me!!

He quarantines all new arrivals for 3 weeks with copper and prazi, makes sure they are eating, etc. I have seen video of his fishroom and yes, believe it or not, this fellow has separate tanks for everything! Crazy right?

So my question is - would you still QT? Would I be taking a risk putting new arrivals straight into my DT?

(Btw I am still cycling so no purchases yet, but in a few more weeks I hope)

I personally would still QT. I trust no one but myself to QT.

I frankly would ask him to hand me the bags unopened on my special orders and not subject them to copper at all. I'd handle it.

Unless I'm buying from a personal friend that I know well and how he/she keeps their tank, I'd QT no matter what.

+1 Even if someone else did it right, how would you feel if you got brook, ich or other and were not 100% positive where it came from?

Okay - thanks everyone. QT tank remains set up.

I do have the option of receiving them immediately but think I would still like him to have them the three weeks as I think that would ensure better survival for me?
If there's something seriously wrong (ie cyanide) wouldn't they pass during the three weeks he has them?

Or am I out in left field once again lol

Copper is toxic to ALL marine life. Buy them straight from the bag and then use TTM. No copper needed.
