We have been knocking around the idea of another slightly larger tank but still in the nano league. We thought about the AP 24 and then were talking about a 40 breeder but kept coming back to cubes. Our local PetsMarts have been sold out for a couple of weeks, though so we gave up on finding one.

We went to the lfs today and the owner was working on a cube - putting in an overflow and drilling holes, etc. Looking at one up close made us want one even more. He said he could get us one but that he couldn't match PetsMarts price. He called the PetsMart about a mile down the road and they had 2 of them. We rushed down and got the tank and stand in cherry finish which is what we wanted, and took it back to the lfs. The sales manager at PetsMart knows the lfs owner and so we got a couple of additional discounts. We ended up paying $184 including tax - yippeeee!

The lfs owner is going to drill it for us, install a small surface skimmer, build a sump and basically put it together for us. We've never done a sump before and are a little gun shy so we feel better having him do the work for us. He's charging us just a little over cost for everything and only $25 in labor.

I am really excited! I love our little 12 gal. nano but it gets full pretty fast. This will give us more elbow room.

We plan to make it a predominantly clown/anemone tank with some lps eventually. The lfs had a beautiful bonded pair of pink skunks so we put a deposit on them and they will hold them until we have the tank set up and cycled. We used to have a maroon and really loved her personality but she was an anemone dominatrix. She beat the *&() out of her bubble tip and when we bought her another hoping she would divide her love and go easier she abused both of them so badly that the new one hid. the original survived but just barely. she did not play well with others.

So now I have the leftover lr (which is now dead) from our 12 gal. in with a nice pc from the lfs today. I figure I will jump start it and try to liven it up again somewhat in the next couple of weeks. We are going to go light on the lr so we may need only a few more pieces.

Anyways - can you tell I'm excited?
