What a small world! That's my garage! Hehe! It's been used less than 3 months, started in August, all the equipment was bought new. let me know. :)

Is the stand 30 or 36 inches tall? What size is that sump? Still interested.

The stand is 32" tall. Stand and canopy is also Oceanic. The sump is a 20G long tank I made into a sump/refugium. I have the megaflow kit, glass top and bulkheads that came with it.

Lighting (1-175w 14k / 2-75w VHO), CS100 Euro-Reef and Phos-Ban still available also... :)

So I think this is the tank I'm wanting. Where are you located? Also, I'm very busy this time of year and was hoping I would be able to perhaps paypal a deposit for the tank until I have time to make it up to you. let me know if that is something you're ok with. I guess we can stop using this thread and continue our transaction thru PM or email. christianswilliams@hotmail.com . We'll work the details out soon, ok?

Oceanic tank is very nice. I don't really like their internal overflow because that thing is huge. I takes up a lot of room. I spent about $300 plus 2 hours for my 50G (30"x18"x20") tank and stand. $600 is not bad at all for that setup.

I spent 500 on a 58 with stand, and no overflow at my local petsmart. A canopy was another 400. I'd definitely consider this a good deal. I also had a 55g before this 58, and I'd have to say the 58 is world's better. Sure, I miss the extra foot, but the 12" front to back was painful.

Yeah, I'm gunna jump all over this deal. Just waiting for a reply from the seller. Fun times ahead. I'm almost more excited about the actual planning of the setup rather than having it running. Does that make me a bit sick? Heh he he...

I'm the same way. I was a giddy schoolgirl while setting up my tank; constantly buying stuff and sitting in front of the tank wide-eyed. Now, I can't stand doing maintenance, and I look at the tank and daydream about all that cash I blew, lol.

For reference, I think I paid $300 for my 58g RR Oceanic. (not sure exact price, maybe it was $285? Can't quite remember)

If I were to do one thing differently with the 58, I would REMOVE the "Megaflow" overflow box, and build a smaller "classic" acrylic overflow box. I just feel the mega-flow overflow box takes up WAY too much real estate!

The megaflow overflow is okay.

The standpipes that Oceanic supplies is insufficient and you are better off making your own.

After dealing with tanks that were not reef-ready (i.e. no overflow box/diy/purchase overflow box) - I would still the tank that was/i reef-ready.

The only exception would be if it was an acrylic tank where you can more or less drill to your hearts content.

I think my tank was something like $365 or $345 or something like that. The stand and canopy combo was approximately another $400.00 or so (which I did not get).

oceanic can make you a custom 58g with a regular rectangular corner overflow other than their megaflows.

again, I'd recommend the tech series, they have the regular overflow which is small enough, staphire glass, eurobracing.

I looked into the pricing of such a tank and I think it is a bit out of my budget...pretty cool though. Think I'll stick with the Oceanic. Also, I think I have decided on the largest of the 3 Tunze NanoStreams and a multicontroller (if/when they become available). I am going to make a durso for the overflow and perhaps run a seaswirl on the return (3/4 or 1 inch). I imagine I could achieve pretty random flow with that setup. Hopefully the Tunze stuff will be available shortly after the new year. I think this 58g is a bit on the small side for full blown streams. Comments?
