So I've noticed weird white circular, hard calcareous spots on some of my palys. Then if I look close I can see white squiggly things inside and they move - worms. Any body know if these are really bad? The corals are honestly doing just fine with them inside. They burrow at the base and work their ways to the head. They are confined to one set of my palys only at the point. I will post a pic of the entry hole tonight once I'm home from work.
On another note, another set of my palys which have been doing fine have one head that just got eaten this morning and was fine yesterday. I recently found out I have Hermodice carunculata that live in the rock that the palys in the first paragraph have taken over. Those palys have been nibbled on as well. Also, the worms have eaten 2 hermits, and 2 snails. I just added a fish and have only fed it a few times and its a small red head goby (doin great), so the worms are very hungry and large. The rock was previously in a larger tank with many fish and lots to eat at someone elses house. Got it for free!
So those are my worm issues. I'm buying or building worm traps and they are all going to go, but I'm not sure the trap will work for the burrowing worms. I also have spaghetti worms and a peanut worm. They are on different rocks though so hopefully the traps do not affect them. ALL ADVICE IS VERY MUCH WELCOME!!!!!!!!!
