Anyone have any info on this worm? Caught this guy because i heard my skimmer overflowing.
Checked on it and found this guy blocking the return on my skimmer!!!!!! :eek2:

looks almost more like a chiton than a worm.....but ive never seen one quite like that...the holes in its back could be a slug too.

I obviously have no idea....lol...... but am curious what it ends up being.

is it hard or soft??
 
that is a Cryptoplax sp. chiton 100%. generally considered safe. they are usually just algae eaters.
 
chances are your species is a Cryptoplax larvaefrmis, or something really close. those are algae eaters. it would be safe to put back.
 
Lewis -- thanks for the post. I didn't know that Cryptoplax is a sponge eater but thanks to your link & a little more research I now do. :)
 
Seems like the inhabitants of the reef are near infinite doesn't it? If stuff like this can survive into our tanks, imagine what is out there in the wild...
