I have a pair of Clarkii's which I've had for at least 4 months. I would like to add a couple Ocellaris. I have heard a lot of mixed ideas about having more than 1 pair of Clowns in a tank. Has anyone had luck with doing this?
How big is your tank? If your tank is like 150 gal or more you might be able to pull it off, if each pair has a host at either end of the tank, but with those two types of clowns I wouldn't recommend it. Ive done it with Percs and skunks.
It might work short term, but once the Clarkiis start to spawn, all bets are off. From my experiences with a mated pair of Clarkiis, I would expect the ocellaris to be killed.

There is no mixed idea about this. It is a bad idea. Mature Clarkii's are very big and very mean toward other clowns. Maybe you can have a group of Clarkii in a large tank. We see this at public aquariums a lot, but I would not call fish there anything close to healthy. Small Ocellaris will not have a chance again a pair of Clarkii. Short term when they are juveniles maybe OK but long term the outcome isn't going to be good.
In a tank this large its possible, if they have a host on opposite ends of the tank, but eventually it could still turn into a mess...
Ive had percs, and skunks in the same tank, but noticed a little territory battle.
