Would this be cruel?

I'm going BB on my 30g, I have a pistol shrimp/YWM gobie pair! I dont want to set up another tank/light/filter/heater/etc just for these two! Would they be upset with me if I took away their sand? He has alot of places to hide in the live rock! Or should I find them a new home?

put a small tupperware of sand in the corner of the tank. They will find a home in there

Please find them a new home. They're sand dwellers and will not survive well or long in a BB. A tupperware full of sand is not the answer!

I have no furniture in my living room! only my tank! I was being kind of a smart***! I never planned on putting them in a BB tank! But, I was curious as well. I bought a 20g tank just for these guys, I just wasnt thrilled with the idea of setting up yet another tank just for them. I guess I could make it a specialty tank, like my 30g (soon to be BB) reef tank, and my 90g FOWLR BB that I'm setting up as soon as I finish tiling the floor! Hence the no furniture bit!

They definitely would fare just fine in a BB with a tupperware of sand and rubble in the corner... why wouldn't they? there is sand...
My friend did this with great success. A tank full of sand would be better, but i really dont think they would know the difference, they would spend all their time in their den which they would build in the tupperware.
