Would this be enough light for my 180 gallon

Hello everyone,

I am looking to buy a t5 set up which consists of 2 actinic and 2 daylights I think. the component has 2 fans, and there are 2 switches that can control the actinics only and the daylights.

I right now have 3 power compacts, along with a 3 foot actinic and a double daylight component on the tank now. If I add the t5 set up would that be too much light, and if so what would I need to take off. I would really appreciate all the help I can get.

I would like to at some point get MH but right now a bit expensive. I have both hard and softies in my tank, nothing seems to really be having any problems, and I know that it all looks well, and my ammonia and calcium levels are great along with nitrate and nitrite.

I think that some of the polyps I have would open a bit more and that the hard corals may be happier if I added the t5's.

Thank you so much everyone!!!

Ted

I agree with pimpinitup in trying to go with all T-5's, but I don't think that only 4 bulbs on a 180 would be enough light. I'd add them to what you have, and when you can, replace the other lighting with more T-5's or MH

not that T5's wont work... but you should be able to find used MH fixtures for comparable prices, then use you existing lighting for actinics
