Would this lens be better than stock d50 lens?

I have taken some good macro shots with my stock 18-55mm lens but when I use my editing program to zoom in on a polyp I get pixalation problems.

Any help would be appreciated!!!

The ebay lens can get you 1:2.74 [ slightly less than half lifesize] magnification. That's not bad for a zoom like that lens- and that focal length is ideal for what they call a "walking around" lens. The 18-55 will get you 1:3.2 [roughly 1/3 lifesize] so to answer the question of would the 28-105 be better for close-ups-- the answer is yes. Is it better all around? No, because it's not nearly as wide [28 v 18] so you'll regret it when you go to the Grand Canyon
