Woullldn't Meet Other Online Store's Price, Why?

Hi there,
Today you lost a sale,:( I made a purchase with another online store for a Ampmaster 3600. Their selling price was $209 with $15 shipping. I called Marine Depot yesturday to see if you could match it and i was told you(Marine Depot) would have to call and get shipping prices. Today I got an email stating they could sale the pump to me for $240 and another $20 for shipping. Which is obviously more than what the other online store was selling theirs for. The reasoning was that they didn't have any in stock. Sure seems funny since I will be recieveing my NEW Ampmaster 3600 pump on TUESDAY. I was not very impressed with the"we'll match any online offer" cause obviously you don't/can't. I have ordered from marine depot before and was very happy with what I had ordered, but now I have to wonder as to if I am being done fairly on prices. I was planning on ordering quite a bit of stuff from marine depot but, since I have gotten the pump from the other online store I will buy my small stuff locally. since I will be saving $36.

I apologize for the late reply.
We usually are able to price match any item from any of our competitors. In this case, we should have definitely been able to match that item. I'm not sure who wrote that email and perhaps there was some sort of mis-communication as we should have sold that pump to you for that price without any problems.

I was the person that responded to your email. For prices matches, we do need to verify the price and availability of the item.

As per my email to you, I contacted the company that you had wanted us to price match and was informed that their price was actually $240 and not $209. On top of that, they did not have the pump in stock. We typically are only able to match prices for in stock items, but I was happy to offer you their current price.
