Wow!

Slave to the reef!
I got my lumenarcs today, all i can really say is WOW! What a difference. Also i am currently using some older bulbs that were on my moms system. I have 20k ushios on the sides and a 20k XM in the middle. The 20k XM is way brighter than the ushios. Looks like i know what bulbs i am going to buy next.

Looks like it's time to install the fans, running 3 400's is making my tank pretty damn hot.

I am running 3 lumenarc minis at 250 watts each and my tank is at 80 or higher with a fan!!! I am so glad I went with 750 watts instead of 1200 watts, Other wise I would be having boild fish for dinner. :)

My electric bill is already high because of all the kilns and fans i use in my shop, whats another 1200 watts?
So much for stable temps.
LOL

Yeah, according to your picture I can really tell the difference. How about some pics man? :D

Cool, cant wait to see what they look like. They changed the salt delivery to tomorrow so I wont be able to drop it off until friday now. I dont get it, my other stuff arrived today.

I am going to have to do something, these suckers are really heating up my tank fast. I installed the 2 4" icecap fans but my tank is sitting at 81.6 and climbing. Maybe i should have stuck to the 250's.

You can clearly see in this picture that the XM in the middle is brighter than the Uhio's on the ends.

Oh yeah....big difference.

I have been using the xm20k's since my tank was started here. I really like them.

Tanks is looking good waverz!

Thanks, ein.

Do you guys think going from 79 to 82 everyday will be a problem? I am wondering if i should have got the AC option with these reflectors.

Wow, you're right. The XM in the middle looks so much better than the Ushio. :eek1:

I used to let my temperature rise 3 degrees before turning on the chiller. Even before I had a chiller, it rose that much during the photoperiod. The only suggestion I have would be to have a lower baseline temperature. Maybe 77 and if it goes up 3 degrees to 80, your corals can handle it.

I have another XM i think i am going to run them on the outside and put the ushio in the middle.

I will try the lower baseline temp and see what happens tomorrow...good idea man.

I didnt get the optional AC add on, although now i am kind of regretting it. I got minis.

Do you have a controller?

I have my controller turn on a big fan over my sum at 78.4 degrees or greater. That keeps my temp range below 80 degrees all the time.

The problem lies in the fact that if you have just one night where your tank does not cool all the way down the temps start creeping higher and higher each day.......not a good thing!

Yeah i have an ACII, am using a "max change" program so when the tank gets 83 (hopefully it won't) the MH's shut off for 1/2 hour. I am going to be adding a 10" fan to the sump as well, we'll see what happens. I am running out of places to plug things into...uhg.
