Hi all I finally got the new tank up and running and am very happy to say that i didn't loose any livestock during the move. I have a 140G tank and I believe I'm at capacity with my fishlist. Here is the current stocklist:

Mandarin Dragonet (2")
Yellow Tang (4")
Blonde Naso Tang (3")
Sand Sifting Goby (3")
Whip Fin Fairy Wrasse (2.5")
Flame Angel (2")
Ocellaris Clownfish (x2) (1.5")
Blackcap Basslet (3.5")
Royal Dottyback (2")

If at all possible I would like one or two more fairy wrasse in the next few months but I think that may be pushing it.... Thoughts ?

Love the Naso and he will be nixed once he becomes to large for the tank. He will be goin to a friends 280G. Will adding a few more wrasse be ok ?

+1 to removing the Naso, dottyback, and whipfin for the following reasons:

Naso Tangs grow at a very impressive rate and will quickly become to large for a 140 tank. He/She needs length to swim as they would in the wild. These fish need 8 foot plus tanks.

Whipfins will take out aggression on Fairy Wrasses. The majority of fairy wrasses are very docile in nature and not aggressive (save for the scotts and other larger fairies). Flashers and the family including Mystery and six lines, are much more aggressive and will out compete the fairies for food and hiding areas.

The dottyback will also become very aggressive as it reaches maturity. It will focus its aggression on similar or smaller sized fishes...ie wrasses. I understand it is your wifes favorite fish, but if you explain that this fish will torment and kill other fish in a very cruel way, she will more than likely understand. Also, let her pick one of the new fairy wrasses (they are much more colorful and active in a tank).

These are just my observations and opinions.

I had a dotty back yrs ago and it had to go. It was beating up my melanus(sp?) wrasse. I personally love that wrasse. It never tried to jumped out.

love wrasses, ditch the rest and catch the "bug" IMO the most rewarding fish to keep. their interactions are priceless.

+1...had to get rid of mine...whip fins and 6 lines are forever 'banned' from my tanks!
You might have a problem with dottyback, also.
x3...I have a six line now for about 5 years so I can't get rid of it, but never again.
