I have a 125 gallon reef with the following fish in order of introduction to the system:
1 False Perc
1 Fire Fish
1 Blue Spot Goby
1 Solon Wrasse
1 Kole Tang
1 Fox Face
3 Red spot cardinals
3 Lyretail Anthias (1 male, 2 female)
1 Line Spot Wrasse
Everyone has been getting along fine until I lost a McCoskers Wrasse that got stuck in the overflow on top of the gate valve a couple weeks ago... I've tried replacing the McCoskers and lost a couple from DD, didn't make it 2 days, didn't handle the shipping well. Anyway, I purchased a 2.25" line spot Wrasse from DD and it has been in the tank for about 10 days. It hides constantly, on the few occasions it has tried to venture around, it is disoriented (hasn't had time to swim in open water) and is viciously pursued by my Solon Wrasse. I did not anticipate any aggression since my Solon has been very passive up to this point. I have been able to target feed the Line Spot so it is at least eating. I did not use an acclimation box, my wife acclimated the Line Spot and put it in the tank because I was at work.
Anyone have any advice? Will the aggression subside? I tried putting a mirror on the outside of the tank but the Solon really does not give it much attention. The Solon Wrasse is about 3.5 inches.
