Wrasse compatibility??

Are there certain ones that should'nt be kept together?? So far, I have a Yellow Coris and a Flasher Wrasse... I dont want any that may mess with my 5 Lyretail anthias... Do you just have to take the risk like you do with tangs??

BTW, The tank is 90 gallons with a 2" sand bed...

If you have a flasher, you for sure do not want a sixline.

agreed. mixing wrasses that appear similar unless added simultaneously is a bad idea. just my opinion

Would the order of the addition of wrasses change anything? Like adding a wrasse that's not as aggressive and then a sixline? I'm not sure if a flasher is aggressive or not, so using a sixline as example.

flashers are very passive and non aggressive ( Mine anyway) six lines are not. Adding them at different times are 50/50. Six lines get very mean with age.

Agreed, take care when mixing wrasses. My ornate (H. ornatissimus) & Potter's do NOT get along. When I added the ornate wrasse things were just fine (the Potter's was already established), but over time as s/he's grown the ornate has become a horrible bully. The Potter's now comes out before lights-on to be fed, and when the lights come on she goes into hiding for most of the day. If she tries swimming in the open, the ornate chases her back into the rockwork. I've been trying for months to get this beast out - the rockwork is cemented together with coral growth, and traps don't seem to work so far. I genuinely wish I'd never added the second wrasse.

Use a small, barbless hook on some fly fishing line, you can pick both items up at any sporting goods type store. Put a small amount of fish food on the hook and freeze it (I do this so the food stays on the hook for a little while in the tank instead of immediately washing off) and just catch the fish. No need to tear down your whole reef or waste weeks trying traps.

Sorry for the hijack guys, but thanks Recty -- the only worry I have with this method is that most of the other fish are far more aggressive at feeding time and I don't want to catch and release the entire reef! I do think I'm going to have to try this though, her behaviour is just intolerable.

Fish traps will work. They have a long line that is user controlled. Simply don't let in the fish you want to keep. Normally takes about 20 minutes. It helps not to feed the tank for a day before trapping.
