im setting up a 33g Reef plumbed into my 75 FOWLR. i dont have any fish planned yet. im still debating about a BB or SSB, but i think im leaning towards a BB for maintenance reasons. i already have a six line in the 75 so i dont want another. im looking into a Yellowfin Flasher Wrasse (Paracheilinus flavianalis), Filamented Flasher Wrasse (Paracheilinus filamentosus), Pink-Streaked Wrasse (Pseudocheilinops ataenia), or Scarlet Pin Stripe Wrasse (Pseudocheilinus evanidus) for size reasons and prices. i was hoping to have atleast a pair, but i would love to have a trio. i am also interested in a carpenter's or McCoskers flasher wrasse but it says they need a 50g minimum. i dont know really anything about wrasses so that is why i came here. i plan to have all peaceful int he tank tho.

thanks for the help.

i have a 24 gal and was considering a pink streaked or lubboks wrasse or tri color fairy wrasse all would be suitable for your 33 gal..
my concerns were not cost but tank space and whether they would help to control the pyramid snail problem in my tank as it is zoa and paly dominated.

good luck with the decision, its always problem for me contemplating which fish i want to get.

Any of those wrasses would require a lid with 1/4 holes. Otherwise, they WILL jump. However, keeping any flasher wrasse in a smallish tank may be problematical.

Possum wrasse? I like the six line best, but you said you don't want one in this tank. Remember, you will be limited to just a few fish. Please post pics, cool tank dimensions.

eXcite95- ill look into those fish and ya my main concern wasnt price but the available space, price doesnt matter too much.

snorvich- my top is 90% covered with an acrylic lid, i had the back open for circulation and for the return, i might make a mesh lid for that 48"3" part.

LisaD- ive heard about the possum wrasse but i cant find info on it lol, ill guess i look harder. i really like the six-line i have in my tank, great personallity and sometimes will flash its gorgeous orange streaked fins when i get too close to the tank lol. i dont wanna get another one cuase i want this tank to be different than my 75, thats why im going Reef. i know about the limited fish list, for sure im gonna have a pair of B&W ocillerus's, and probably a mandarin. dont worry i have done my research, not gonna add one until like this time next year lol and maybe sooner if i find an ORA on, my sump and 75 are booming with pods!

I am gonna start a build thread for the 33 on my local fish forum, i will probably add one on here too as i update that one. i just gotta find the camera cable lol, and a better camera ;)
