Hello, i would add the wrasses to the tank first, out of the wrasse i would add the mystery (5 bar) last. Sounds like an awesome tank in the making, good luck!

if it was me i would not get the yellow streak fairy wrasse..they are one of the most aggressive i have ever had and many others have had the same trouble with theirs...my yellow streak killed 4 wrasses i had

Thanks for that, just the sort of info I need. So apart from the yellow streak fairy if I remove that will the rest get along well enough? Is there any OTHER creatures I have in the tank I should be worried about attacking the wrasses or vice versa?

In place of the Yellow Streak Wrasse I will suggest a Yellow Coris Wrasse (if you wish to keep with the color yellow). I have one of these beauties and she is a doll!! She is peaceful, does not bother other tank mates including my other Wrasses and absolutely loves my Percula Clowns. I think she thinks she is one, she buddies up with them often and swims near them most of the time. The tank sounds like it is going to be beautiful.

I don't think you need to remove them from the list, i feel if you give the other wrasses time to adjust to the tank then you could add the yellow streak and mystery later on.

But each fish have their own personality, some mean some aren't. Your tank seems big enough to house them peacefully.

Ok updated the list, does this look ok. Can you tell me other than the Wrasses potentially attacking each other depending on how they are introduced, is there anything else they might attack or is there anything ive listed that may attack them?

One thing to note is that as I live in Australia (Melbourne) most likely there are going to be things im not going to have access to due to import restrictions and what not. Basically im trying to piece together through everyones experience and knowledge what the best REEF, VERTEBRATE and FISH safe setup I can get then work it down on availability. Thanks again.

OK here's my 2 cents for what it's worth.

Tank:
May want to go with either 14K or 10K bulbs if the tank is 3 feet deep. Although 20K's may look nice, they don't penitrate that deep. Also with even 14K's, you don't really need any atinic other than maybe dawn/dusk. I run 14K hamilton 400W DE's on my 3' tall 400 G tank with no atinic and it looks great. However, my corals are not growing as fast as they do in my other tank with 10K bulbs.

Fish:

Clowns, may be better off with a pair. Having to very similar clowns could lead to problems.

Go with the black cap basselet. Tile fish are not necessarly reef safe and are also hard to keep.

Yellow Watchman Goby and pistol shrimp pair. Dpn't wory abut buying them paire dup, they will do this on their own in the tank in no time. I had my YWG for over a year before adding in a tigger pistol shrimp. Took them just a few min to find each other and they've been together ever since.

DRAGONETS. Either get a male/female pair or just one. Having one of each will be a problem and they WILL fight. Males have a longer dorsal spine than the females.

Clown gobies are great but again, hard to care for. Maybe wait until the tank is well estabilished before adding them.

Eels, though they are nice, just don't do well in a reef setup with inverts. Sorry.

Shrimp, don't think you will need 20 cleaner shrimp, maybe 2 will do.

Anemones, seems no matter where you put them, if they don't like the spot, they WILL move. Find a nice place without TOO much flow. Also remember that they get big AND will split. I have one Rose that's about a foot across whne fully expaned. Had to move a bunch of corals out of that end of the tank.

Good luck with the setup.

Great feedback, thanks. I have amended my list as per your info. SO far Ive been lucky and pretty much each person on these forums helps add something new to my list. I haven't had any conflict of argument which is get at LFS which starts to hurt my head when all shops recommend their own products over others.

Heres the updated list, is there anywhere else I can improve

Ive just read about a heap of people who have had success in keeping the Ribbon Eels as they are the most placid and rather than getting larger they just get longer. Their mouth is only big enough to fit in tiny fish and tiny shrimp as opposed to what I would class as small (clowns etc)

Anyone know much about ribbon eels?
