Wrasse Help Quick Please!

I just bought a wrasse that was listed as a Melananus (sp) Wrasse (it looks kind of like a Richmond's Wrasse). Has anyone ever heard of these and are they reef safe? I was told they were at the LFS but I can't find any info on them online and want to make sure they are okay before I put him in the tank.

Do you mean melanurus wrasse? Yes, reef safe (may eat small shrimp).

I have a huge melanarus in my reef. Very cool fish even though he does flip small things over at times. I have seen him pick at snails too. He is a total pig.

should be okay but a picture would help .also you should always pre plan what you tankmates will be so that the fish compatibility issues are already thought out thoroughly
