I have been trying for the last week to get a good picture, this is the best I can do. For the life of me, I don't remember what the name of this flasher wrasse is.

konadog,

It is Paracheilinus mccoskeri, the McCosker's Flasher Wrasse, male that comes from the Indian Ocean. It is a nice individual and also a nice pic.

Thank you very much for the ID Mr. Tanaka. I looked thru your flasher Wrasse thread, but I would stop to take in the beauty of all the pictures, and never get to the next page! Thanks for the complement on the picture, these little gems are hard to photograph!

Konadog,

Thank you for your telling about my thread.

I hope you to get the better pics of it; it has a larger red area on anal fin than seen in most specimens from the Maldives. I suspect that yours has come from Kenya coast.

The flasher has only been in the tank for 10 days now and is starting to come out more during feeding. Hopefully I can get some good pictures over the next few weeks that show better detail.

Your flasher thread is one of the best fish threads I have seen in years! It's so nice to have such great pictures to go with the names. Thank you for sharing your information with RC

konadog,

Please see pages 4-6 on my "Let Them Flash !" therad. All the 14 known species are shown in full color. I am sorry; I should have deleted some photos in the beginning pages.

When you attach any photo of Flasher Wrasses please add to my column. Thank you for your support and consideration.

I just added some new pictures to your thread!

I'm not sure, I don't have any dartfish. I do have a 6 line wrass that didn't get along in the beginning, but they have since learned to play nice and share!
