Wrasse question - mystery and melanarus

Could a mystery and a melanarus play nice in a 42 gallon? My mystery is pretty passive, sort of a wimp actually. What do you think?

Tough call. My melanarus was a punk. He had tons of space in my 110

I have a mystery who is also very passive. I would stay away from the melanarus. I do have him in with a few other flashers and fairys with no issues.

Passive behavior from mystery wrasses doesn't last in most cases. As they get older and more established they begin to behave aggressively tward most fish added after them, but especially toward other wrasses.

Agreed. That's why my mystery was the last eraser added to my DT.

Kidding of course - I was waiting for you both to chime in actually. What if I added a six-line as well to diffuse the aggression

I've got both in my 90g and they get along great. Several years now. Also have a couple other fairy's. My only trouble is my bristle tooth tang; he will show aggression to many of my fish for no particular reason once in a while.
