Wrasse question

So I've heard that a male of the Cirrhilabrus genus loses color over time if no females of the same genus are present. Has anyone else heard this?

And if this is true... Has anyone found a site where you can purchase male and females of this genus? I have only seen makes online.

I've heard this as well, no first hand experience though.

Don't know how long it takes for them to lose color, if they do, but I have had my Red Head Solon over a year and no color change.

Some species are more likely to do it than others. C. exquisitus is one I know that is likely to do that.

That said I think most other species are fine especially if there are other male Cirrhilabrus species represented in the tank. I don't think females are necessary for most species but I'm sure Evolved can tell us for sure.

How about just the craziness of not being able to find female Cirrhilabrus to purchase. I wonder what the reasoning is behind that?
