Hi guys

I just saw that my LFS has P. filamentosus and P. flavianalis available. What do you mean shall I pull the trigger?

Can you recommend this 2 guys? :)

They are about 75$ together thats a nice price for switzerland.

They should be fine, however you do have a number of fish that are more on the aggressive side. I would say you would either need to add both and hope any aggression is split between the two, or neither and get something that can hold its ground better.

the only aggressive fish I have is the dottyback. But I cant catch this little guy... All other fishes in my tank are not aggressive. Sometimes my tomini tang has his bad moments where he shows some aggressivity against the chromis and C. exquisitus.

Do you think it is better to add some hardy Cirrhilabrus?

I would put the Blue Girdled and Longnose Hawkfish in the semi-aggressive category as well. However you would know the temperaments of your individuals. What was your last add, and how did the tankmates react?

Either way, I would recommend using an acclimation box when you do go to add any new livestock.

Yes, I know the individuals. The blue girdled and my hawkfish are very cool.. there is no aggression coming from them. My last add was the C. exquisitus and only my tomini tang was a bit territorial. I add anything new with my acclimation box :-)

What do you say, shall I pick some hardy wrasses?

I would say that would be best! Plenty to choose from. You already mentioned C. lubbocki and C. jordani. Either would work assuming your tank is large enough. Any others you are interested in?

Yes I know there are plenty. I also like C. solorensis or C. Lineatus. But for a lineatus I have to pay ~300$ here in switzerland :-/

C. lubbocki and solorensis are not that expensive here.

Or what do you say to Halichoeres?

Well even a female/juvi C. lineatus usually sells for $150-200 in America; $300-375 for a terminal male. They are worth it though (IMO)!

C. solorensis are known to be more aggressive with other Fairy Wrasse. So I would advise avoiding them. As far as Halichoeres, I have never kept one so I can't offer any personal experience. However from what I know, the following should make good tank mates:

H. biocellatus
H. claudia
H. chrysus
H. iridis
H. melanurus

I've had h. melanurus in a previous tanks as well as in my current setup. One of my favorite fish, and not a planaria in sight with them around!

Can get a little bossy as they mature, but not too bad IME. Just be prepared to replace your CUC every few months....

thank you guys. The sandbed is not a problem in my tank as its 2"+. I really like the potters leopard wrasse.. Im pretty much on this ones: C. jordani, C. lubbocki and M. geoffroyi

I'm sure that you're aware that Leopards, including potters, are some of the more difficult wrasses to keep in aquariums

Yes I know that.. It was just an idea. But unfortunately its hard to find a leopard here in switzerland. Maybe the best idea is to go for a melanurus and the 2 Cirrhilabrus.

Hi dudes

I just got offered some Cirrhilabrus. I could get these:

C. rubrimarginatus (Vanuatu)
C. naokoae

What do you think on this guys?

I would recommend both... Naokoe (M) has strong/bright colors and pink margin is attractive in M or F colors...
