Wrasses

my pair of rhomboids just spawned for the first time tonight. the male was an exceptional beauty when flashing, that for a moment, i thought it even emitted its own light!

did not expect spawning to happen because the female was a recent addition only about 3 weeks ago, and the tank was only 2 ft high. plus, there is only 1 female for him. really was mesmerizing and i was caught off guard, thus no pictures.

Fish get Bendz too. Depending on how they are collected, they need to be addressed accordingly. If they're shipped out the same day, you'll receive a bag of "fish pop" not fish poop but fish POP :)

Never seen or heard of Rhomboids breeding in captivity. Do you have pics? I'd love to see them! Mine only flashes.

very nice collection of wrasses there ,have you had any aggresion issues with the Pylei at all . mine is a bit of a tank boss .

neither have i. the height of my tank was a hinderance to them. only 2 ft, their ascent was rather short. and rushed. it didn't look natural. i'm not sure if they will do it again. i've had the male for a little over 7 months. watched it develop from a normal male to an alpha one. its really great. i don't have videos or pictures as i wasnt prepared for it lol. tonight will be the last night before i leave for a 3 week trip. so hopefully it does it once more today.

the pylei was added in last. no issues at all. infact i got it when the colours faded to a mere red. now the black on the tail and dorsal is coming back around 70%. keep it longer and i'm sure i will get back it's colours. it's very fond of the rhomboid.

i did post a full tank shot in my tank thread under the large tank thread section. my tank isnt very large, but i dunno where else to post!

anyway, here's photos of my Cirrhilabrus Naokoae as promised.

Nice photos!!!

You have a marine betta with all those active fish? I just may consider one for my future tank. Was pondering it but thought some of the tank mates might be iffy.
