The sump room still needs to be organized and wires all straightened up, but will get to the sooner or later, probably later even though I would like it to be sooner.

The End for now
:D

WOW! Beautiful. Great to see your tank come to life like that. Great pictures!

The closed loop looks so much better. I'm sure you're glad you made the modification and pointed them up.

Best, Itay.

Ok finally something to post and update with. Here is the latest addition to the system.

I think this should do very well since it is rated for up to 1000G

You can never have to much skimming

It is a LifeReef VS3 72". It is powered by a Blueline 70 main pump, and a Mag18 Recirc pump, each going through a Mazzie Self Cleaning Venturi. It has only been up for 24 hours and already has pulled more than the Deltec. It used to run a friends 650G tank. Couldn't pass up the deal and the Deltec APF600 would have never been enough for this 180G.

why do you think that it wouldn't have been adequate? I just purchased the same deltec for my 180 build.

The APF600 could barely keep up with my 90 Gal. Granted I had 20 fish in there and I feed my fish and corals well, I also do 15% water changes each week, and still had nitrates creep up to 50+ on my 90, did not want the same on the 180. I will probably have about 30 fish in the 180, granted 80% of them are less than 3" but do have 3 tangs and a Rabbit fish that are fairly large, so when this was offered to me at the price it was, I could not say no and it came with the 2nd venturi and both pumps (Mag18 Recirc and Blueline 70 main pump). This should keep the 180 good (or at least I hope). I have seen this and other LifeReef skimmers and they have always appeard to work VERY well. They are also Mazzie Venturi's so not as troublesome as the Becketts.

thanks for the info. I may keep my ASM around for secondary support.

I'm all but speechless...your tank aquascaping is one of the nicest i've seen.
And your corals are stunning.

I know you're busy (I can see why you would be :D) but when you get a moment, or when you think of it, can you please post pics of your zoanthids in the zoanthid forum section here?
There are two or three threads in that zoanthid section which would be perfect for showing yours off.
Your zoa collection is quite something. :inlove:

I have neglected this thread for so long I though it was about time to add some updated picts and info. I cannot believe the growth I have been getting and the amount of Coralline in just 4 months. Recently I have removed my GAC, GFO, and Ozone from the system and moved the Ca Reactor from being externally feed to in the sump. I started dosing Vodka approx 2 weeks ago and have had great success so far. The water clarity is outstanding and colors are starting to pop a little more. Still using the ProdiBio BioDigest as well.
