Trust me when, there are things that people spend A LOT more money on that makes no sense to me. A classic example is shoes. I have friends that spend thousands on a pair of rare jordans or women that I know that dont hessitate to drop a G on a pair of pumps...

I would rather have a beautiful fish to interact with than a 1G pair of pumps any day! :D

You guys are creeping me out a bit.

I would rather have a Conspic or an Interruptus.
What if the buyer already has a conspic or interruptus? Or both?

Eye of the beholder, as I have always said.

Oh my, that would be something, to have wrought iron, conspic, and interruptus all in one tank.

New goal.

Sure would like to see the new owner post that beautiful wrought iron pics.

Beautiful fish! Such unusual coloration for a butterfly.

Now how about some Chaetodon smithi ?? :D

Only if someone would steam out there to collect some. Not much else out there, though.

I don't know, there is the Easter Island pygmy that you could also pick up while out there. Then swing by Clipperton atoll on the way back and pick up a few of them.

Dreams are fun aren't they? :)

You mean something like this? These aren't big wroughts and interruptus, the pic here is of two small fish which makes them super rare. Pic if I remember correctly from an old B-box blog.

I wouldn't mind a pair of red dragon pumps....

wroughts are very common in Japan, but the shipping kills the price (same as interruptus) they are commonly available but you have to tack on 200$ + per fish when you ship in from Japan, so if the fish is 200 shipping is 200 - wholesaler lands it for 400, sells it for 800, thats the 2k price tag!

i want a tiny one in the 2" range. One that size would definitely peak my interest! :)

Then I would save my money for something else. Plus I highly doubt the buyer already has both of these pretty rare fish. Most likely this fish did not go to Japan where people have those type of fish collections.

For those interested--

Quote from LA DD today 10:21am

"We currently have two Wrought Iron Butterflyfish in quarantine that we are hoping to post in the Diver's Den within the next few weeks. They are approximately 6.5?and will be priced at $2299.99."

There was a guy a short drive from me with multiple conspic's, a wrought iron, an interruptus, armitage, and I forget what else... in one large aquarium.
