iam not a big B/F fan but these wrought irons a just beautiful enough for me to convert to a B/F fan

I think wrought irons are absolutely spectacular, and these last couple of DD specimen have been particularly impressive. jmaneyapanda, if you don't mind sharing, are you planning to put this one in your 240 angel/butterfly reef? At what temp do you keep that tank?

Hey Jeremy, congrats! I remember last year when the high dollar fish in your tank was a scribbled... you've gone nuts! (this is a compliment of course) :) Welcome to the wild side of rare fish... appreciate them and keep them COOL... many of the fish you have that I've kept (like conspics and interrupta) need cool water long term and do much better...

Check out this little guy I got... smaller than my car key... I'm keeping him high 60s/ low 70s... at his natural temperature range... :)

In January in Osaka I saw this small wrought... I would have taken it home had I not been on my way to Micronesia for a few weeks... :(

John that little conspic is soo cool! Someday I'm going to get one, I just love their colors and the blue ring around the eye and on the gills is just gourgeous. Plus it sounds like they are full of personality and will eat from your hand.

Hey John, whats the third fish in the bottom pic with the conspic and wrought iron?

Centropyge flavicauda, C. acanthops hyrbid. The same as the ones the diver's den has had in.

Hey John, whats the third fish in the bottom pic with the conspic and wrought iron?

That's Centropyge flavicauda... unless you accept a recent paper that looked at Centropyge fisheri (from Hawaii), Centropyge acanthops (from East Africa), and all of the Centropyge flavicauda in between... the study found ALL of these fish to essentially be color variants of ONE species... with Centropyge fisheri being the first to be described, they all would take on that name... so, if you accept that paper, Centropyge fisheri would be the angelfish species with the largest range, from South Africa to Hawaii...

The fish Tim mentioned comes out of the Maldives, and is a self sustaining population with a color between that of Centropyge acanthops and Centropyge flavicauda... sharing genes of each, and can be essentially considered a "hybrid" for that reason... it's tough to tell if the fish in the pic is from the Maldives, but judging from the color from my bad pic it could be from the Maldives, the West Pacific, or anywhere in between...

Sorry that wasn't the easy answer... :D

Thanks for the comments on the conspic... so exciting to get this little guy...

Jeremy, the cat's out of the bag... show photos of that fish when you get him/her!

Oh my gosh John
You have got to hook me up!!! I love the tiny fish

Just to throw my .02 in there, I think theres a big difference between showing off v. sharing a new purchase and being reserved v. being coy. I dont think theres anything wrong with showing pictures of new purchases or just letting people in this "community" know. Afterall, thats why we are a part of this arent we? I will say that I think its slightly annoying to see people make these purchases, allude to purchasing them, then act very coy about the whole thing (no one in particular, just in general). Of course, it is entirely your business to keep these things a secret, but I just find it a bit odd/strange, but thats just me. Its almost worse than "showing off, " IMHO, because then it appears that you want to show off but for some reason or another, dont want to do it directly. Ok, thats just my opinion on this whole discussion. Again, this isnt personal to anyone, just my general views on sharing things on the boards. This is probably one of my most frequented forums, in large part, because of the rarities (and accompayning pics) that pop up. So, please dont hesitate to share with those of us that are less fortunate :)
