Wt!@# is wrong with my green hairy shrooms??

my shrooms where doing great..they were huge, about 3-4" in diameter..water is good..ph 8.3-8.4, nitrates are 1 , calcium 460, mag a little low 750, phos .25, i even had a florida ricordia split a cpl wks ago

then they just kinda shriveled up.. now they are about 1-1.5" they had like a white stringy stuff on them..i took a soft paint brush and tried brushing it off and realized it wasnt sitting on top of the shroom, it was coming out of the shroom...and they also changed shape..instead of being round they kinda sometimes look like a bow tie..

any ideas??

When was your last water change? Think about anything that you have done differently lately to you tank.

What type of lights are you using? I had the same thing happen when I switched to leds. The only ones that still thrive are in deep shade in caves.

Happened to me when I moved my lights, they opened back up after a couple days.

It looks like they are splitting to me. I have a ton of these shrooms and they seem to do mass splits from time to time.

Your Mg should be more like 1350! The mushrooms in the pics look pretty healthy. The do sometimes eject their guts after large water changes but go back to normal after about 24 hours.

tike, 75gl tank..did a 30gl change last wk..other than that only thing i've been doing is adding mag and potasium..every cpl days i add 20ml of mag..its up to about 800-850 and im trying to get it up...just bought to potasium and started dosing as per the instructions..

jawbone..def no penny or any metal in the tank...i have a maxium ro unit..new filters a month ago

lost in the dark..i have a 48" MH hood..(2)175 20k and (2) 420 actinic all new bulbs a month ago
