Hi, I'm a Miami Beach guy, member of FMAS, but I will be driving up to Orlando this weekend with a truck to drop off some furniture at my Dad's. Having been given permission from the spouse to upsize my tank, I thought I would put the word out in ORCA about what I am looking for. Here are my preferences/requirements:
Size
Length: minimum 6', maximum 7.5' (can't fit 8')
Width: 18" (that is most my wife will let it stick out, see exception below)
Height: tall. 24, 30, 36, whatever. the taller the better.
Width Exception: if it is a large bow front, I can get away with a width greater than 18" at the widest.
Material I am open to either glass, acrylic, or dilithium crystal.
Drilled Strongly prefer reef ready/drilled. It will be flat against a wall, so can't get away with leaving a big gap for an overflow. So pre-drilling for a closed loop could create a problem too if it is drilled on the back panel. Bottom line, this tank can stick out a max of 18-19" from the wall. (See exception above.)
Stand/Hood Do not really need a stand or hood, unless it is easily modified such that I can completely resurface the front to match my furniture. In other words, I don't want to pay extra for your beautiful and ornately hand carved stand/hood that I am gonna rip apart and resurface anyway.
Price I'm not gonna lie: I won't pay retail. Im looking for someone who is looking to get rid of a 6+' tank for a good price. And I'm patient. I have been scouring the classifieds on all sources for a while now, so I have a pretty good idea of what constitutes a good deal. If you have a tank for sale that meets these requirements, lets talk.
Anyway, just thought I would put the word out on all sources.
