like the headline says intersted in purchasing some T5 lighting for my 125 gallon aquarium. Right now I have two 60" Power Compact Florecents each has 4 96watt bulbs. So im running almost 800 watts!!! The light scam e with the set up when i bought it. Looking at new light bulbs but they are expensive and dont last as long as the T5's. If anyone is getting rid of some let me know.
My tank is 5 foot long 25.5" tall and 18" wide. From what ive looked aroundat I think a 6 bulb 80 watt each should be good for my lighting, if anyone has any suggestion please let me know. Or would a 4 bulb 80watts each, fixture work as well? Or am i better off going with MH if i have to buy? I already have a aquarium cooler since my Power Compacts put off some heat so heat from the MH would be fine. But what will grow my coals the best and be cost effeciant?
Wht MH's do you shorten the time of like since they are more intense? And if so then with t5's do you lengthen the time of light? Just not sure what route to take. Also where to get the best deal on new fixture if i cant find some on here??? Thanks and sorry for the long post!!
