Niger Triggers are usually passive, but mine has been living with an aggressive humu and a 5.5" Niger trigger and has learned to hold his ground against them. This makes me think that he'd be snackin' on your inverts. Plus I would never trust a trigger (not even a blue-throat) with any inverts that didn't live inside of a shell.
