Wtb: Aptasia eating copper band or file fish

I'm looking for an established aptasia eating copper band butterfly or file fish. Willing to pay good $ for it since I have a fairly good amount of aptasia. Please pm me, thanks!

I had matted filefish and they worked well. Downside is they ate up all my zoas after the aptasia were gone. I passed it along to my buddy. I’ll check if he’s done and can be caught.

I'm curious as well. I've been battling Aips for a while now and buy Aip-X every other month. Lemon peels is a nice dwarf angel as well so wouldn't mind adding it to my tank. Let us know!

First time I hear that lemonpeels are aptasia killers. Cool if they do.

I swear this happened I had them put him in they disappeared now I too him out and they are starting to re appear. I never saw him eating them but all signs point to him

I wouldn't trust Lemonpeel angels with coral though. What's your guys' experiences on that?

They nip. I've had one in the past. Best fish ever for aiptasia and manjanos is a Kleins Butterfly, but they will eat acans and zoas eventually. Same with file fish. I've yet to find any fish that will take care of aiptasia, and not nip at coral. I've never been able to keep a Copperband, only fish in this group I have no experience with.

If there was a magic bullet for aiptasia, I think these threads would stop! :lolspin:

I have a spawning pair of file fish that I can put to work cleaning any rocks you want to bring me. I am pretty sure they are what cleared out all my zoos, then green polyps( glad they are gone really) but now i have seen them nipping at my palyothoa and suspect they have been nipping at my LPS as well. Perhaps if I give the more aptasia they will leave the other corals alone.

Would you be willing to sell the pair of file fish?

I have a Filefish I would part with. I have a tank full of Zoas and he has never touched one in the year that I have had him/her $20. A bit over 3"

Does he eat aptasia? If so please pm me your contact info, I'm in Orange but can't pm bc I'm still new, thanks!
