Ok so now I've got aptasia, not sure when or where.. But they are spreading and I dont really want to take out 400 lbs of rock.

Had the shrimp they ignored them, cant use a copper band due to purple tang agressivness, aptasia x could not reach them all, worked on other methods as well to no avail.. last but not least and from what i hear works perfect if you can get them Aptasia eating nudibranchs.

Anyone have the Aptasia eating nudibranchs local ????

If not an order will be placed soon if a group buy from somewhere sounds good.

Those nudis are so small. You would typically use one with alot of aiptasias. If you have one or two in a larger aquarium, chances are the nudi will not be able to reach all of them before his death. I have good luck with peppermints, but I don't put food in my tank. If they have an alternate food sorce they will not touch the aiptasia. Either cut the food back, or get more shrimp.

id get some to put in my nano and swap in/out aiptasia infested rocks. but iv been trying to berghia locally for almost 2 years. i have a card from salty underground that specializes in berghia. they are located in Missouri

scibbity I hear the same thing.. I know a few people have had luck getting them in the past but I dont remeber who and from where..

kris... that would be a cool option to check out and do a price check..

Salty Underground has them soon.

i think a group buy is in order. if anyone does one id do it in oct or nov when it cool out though. since they are supposedly hard to ship. and remember wrasses like 6 line ect... will probably eat the berghia.

That last statement was going to be my last questions as i was thinking about that already..

I have a 6 line and what a pain in the butt he is.. I'd love to get him out but go figure in a 300G that is no easy task. He is very smart and avoids public viewing when you get close. I dont know if a fish trap would work but i'd love to try one if anyone out there has one for me to borrow.

I would not mind a group buy to my house. I live in north phx I17@ happy valley so I may not be central enough for some..

If enough people are interested in getting some Berghia, I can get 6~7, enough to breed, everyone who wants some pitches in a few bucks. I will breed them (takes a month or so) and pass the offspring out to those people who are in on the deal. (no additional charge, not trying to make ANY money off this). I've got enough aptasia in 3 or 4 tanks now to breed them for a couple of months until the aptasia runs out.

Frank Thanks for that offer .. I would also be in for that kind of plan... I was kind of worried about the shipping issue and survivability.. (o yea and that darn 6 line :) he will be gone first)

Ok... here's how we'll do it...

Everyone who get's in on this Berghia adventure in the 1st or following waves must follow 1 simple rule.

When you get close to running out of Aptasia (or after they breed), you must please, Pay-It-Forward.

Give someone else who needs them, a few of your Berghia so they can service thir tank. and they must Pay-it-Forward when they reach the same point. Don't charge anything for them, they will die in your tank when you run out of Aptasia anyway!!

This way I figure we can pretty much get a good grip on Aptasia control on the West Coast in a year or so :-D

sound good??

Nope, I don't need anything up front, I will cover them and you guys can kick back a couple of bucks each when I bring them out :-)

I wont be able to make the meeting on Sat (most likely) , but Id like to pick up a couple from someone later next week or Sun if possible.

Thanks Frank!
