I have few small polyps of aptasia that came on a rock i got and i heard these are the following ways to kill them or to get rid of them and if anyone has any of these and wants to sell them or get rid of them let me know please.
Also An issue that may be important to mention the rock that has aptasia on it also has a few small colonies of coral and dont want to kill them with dosing the tank with chemicals or killing the actual rock.

Peppermint shrimp
Daranus megistus hermit
berghia nudibranchs
copper bannded butterfuly
raccoon butterfly
kleins butterfly

I have a 75gallon with 1 green chromis and 1 yellow tang

If you have mixed feelings or any experience with these fish or inverts please do let me know what is the best solution without using needles and all that stuff.

Unless needles are the only way

peppermint shrimp worked for me i still had to kalk paste the larger ones its really easy my tank is now aptasia free

I have some joes juice you can try. Stop out and grab it sometime. Kreeger mentioned using epoxy over hydroids before, I wonder if that would work in this situation.

I have had success with using coral super glue. The only thing is that u need to remove the rock its on.

I had excellent results with peppermint shrimp. I got them at AT since I know they only feed aptasia to their peps. So at least I knew for sure they had a taste for aptasia.
Got 4 of them for 180 gal. Within 2-3 weeks aptasia were gone.

I love my copper banded butterflys they do a great job with the aptasia and are a great addition to the tank when it is gone. You do have to get them to eat mysis and brine so they don't die after the aptasia is gone.

I used a couple Peppermint shrimp and they killed all the aptasia. It takes a couple days but it did the trick for me!

Pet Junction in Stow usually has pep shrimp in, and for $4 ea. it's not that bad of a hit if they don't work. good luck!

I have called all the shops around the area and the only place that had them and avaliable was Aquatic Tech and they were $9.99 and $16.99, all the other places were telling me they will get some next week. :( I dont want them to start stinging my corals around em.

Stay away from Kleins if you have other corals. NOT reef Safe!!! I know from experience.... Peppermint shrimp are the best way to go.

Hey thank you everyone! I went and got 3 peppermint shrimp today from A. Tech. I hope they are hungry cause i noticed a few more polyps today :( When do they usually eat day time or night time? Are they nocturnal?
Any help will be appreciated

Thank You

You will never see em eat 1 or the peppermints there notoriously good hiders i have 8 in my 120 and never see em.

what you mean you wont see em eat 1, they better come out and eat! the aptasia polyps are on the front of the rock where they are visible.

New guy is so worried about his aptasia, that he bugs me and Zach about it :). I was paranoid about mine too when I first started, used a blow torch to get rid of them. Now I would feed them just for the heck of it :). Just kidding about the bugging thing btw.
