Ohhh, ok yeah u paid the right price then hehe. I didn't get the pH Probe. I will be purchasing it soon though. Did it come with calibration fluid?

Got these from Thereefstop 2 months ago for $427shipped. Dont forget to get the cable for the serial port. I hear the ones we get at Frys and other places dont work. I also got a few X10s from Radio Shack for about $10 each.

i dont know it comes with the calibration fluid or not but I have a friend who is chemist. he gives me plenty of those.

can i used both dc8 anh x10 on a single controller?

"X10s from Radio Shack for about $10 each" is this the same as the one reefgreek selling? what do i need ro run this x10 ?

thank you, i am new to this and thinking of getting one set.

yes you can use both on the controler at the same time. I dont know if they are the same but they look exactly the same.

I heard the X10 is very noisy and interfering with your electronic devices.

I used to use the X10 System throughout my house and I agree with hitekfreak that it can cause interference with other devices. I guess it's just like any wireless communications in the home, it's a hit or miss. More on the hit side though. If you can afford extra DC's i'd go with those instead since they are directly connected to the controller.

Yeah they do with some MH ballast like Ice caps. But the X10 itself don’t make any noise. Even thought I bought a few X10 I'm only using the DC8 and DC4HD, the x10 is just too bulky. BTW don’t forget that the DC8 is only rated at I think 15amps. If you plan on running chiller and MH as well as other high wattage equipment on it I would get a DC4HD.

I know we are talking the AC, but looking at it should the reefkeeper 2 cheaper since the DC4HD cost another 150 for it verus RK2 only like 40.

Can the reef keeper 2 program and monitor online and use x10 ?

No the RK can't go online or use X10, it’s a good controller but not as versatile as the AC. It’s more of a Plug and play type unit And more user friendly. People who has it like it but I think if they were to try the RC they wouldn’t go back.

At the price that ReefGeek is selling it for $269 for the Controller and the DC8 combo, it is the same price as the RK2. The AC has more capabilities as far as programming and being able to interface to your computer/internet.

Why would you be needing the DC-4HD? Will you be running that much power? For me my total Amperage for the stuff I'll be running will be barely 11Amps.

You can calculate what your total amperage will be by following Ohm's Law.

Watts divided by Voltage = Amperage

My chiller and lights run close to 1500watt at peak which is the reason why I got the DC4HD. Another reason why I got both DC8 and DC4HD is because I wanted to put my tank on two different breakers.

The ac DC4HD is like 100-150 the RK2 is expansion is smaller but only 40...however I like the internet and the programing thing

Reefgeek Is easy to deal with and made me a good deal on other AC components I needed for my ACll.

I second to that. I bought my lights, pumps and now the AC.
