Just wanted to give a shout out that if anyone has a BTA split, i am looking for one. I think its easier to pay a little bit less for a split than to go and spend 50+ dollars for one from LFS.
We have an RBTA split that we'd be willing to sell, but we've been trying to get him off the rocks for 3 months with no success. He's on an underside of a craggy rock, and stretches around to get the light. Anyone have any ideas for how to (gently) get him off? We would rather leave him be than risk the animal in any way.
That's a stubborn BTA right there. On the underside of a rock, geez. Is the rock that he is attached on really large? If not then i would be willing to buy the rock along with the anemone.
Yeah I got 3 RBTA (one did the whole hat-trick bit on me!) getting them off seems to be next to impossible if they find a crevase to stay in, I got one off once because he was dangerously near some zoos, but no where to place him for sale, so moved it to another part of the rock. (and yes it's a large rock they are on). Somedays I wish I never did go the anemone route.
i actually have 2 that are on my back wall of my tank. I live in SF, i could probably let one go. If your interested PM me and i'll give you some pics when i have time
Roy that trick requires you to remove the rock in question though does it not? I can't see having an ice cube under the water being very useful (especially when that water is 80F ).
