Wtb: bulk magnesium

Gives Bad Advice.
Made the mistake of purchasing a liquid. An entire bottle will raise my mag 50ppm. Lol.

Anyone selling dry mag in bulk before I buy on BRS?

BRS

Also are you sure your correct on your calculations there.....if you had a 300gal system you could raise 100pts with 81.8oz and in a gallon there is 127oz

Calculations were wrong. But googling it, someone else had asked and it will raise it a little more than 100ppm. It's natureef mag.

It takes a LOT of mag to raise your parameters. I usually use the calculator on the BRS website. Fortunately mine stays in range with water changes. I have the original mix I mixed up 2 years ago and its nearly full. I think I've dosed a few times just to see what would happen. I've talked to a few stickheads that like to run their mag higher than normal (~1400) so I gave that a try but did not notice anything different.

I think you are still a little off 1 gal on a 300 gal system will raise Mag 150 ppm thats more than a little over 100....and on a 250 gal system it will raise it almost 200 ppm

Here's the bottle. 16oz. 1 ounce raises mg 7.5 per 100 gallons.
16x7.5 is 120. That would be if it were a 100 gallon tank.

I'd like to know how to do the equation of I'm doing it incorrectly.

But it my volume is 130 gallons, it will raise my mg 92ppm for 16ounces.

I really like the natureef line of products, however to raise the mag when it is so low I rather use a combination of Epsom salt and magnesium chloride if you can find it locally, once you have it at your target then you can use the liquid version to maintain.
