I purchased a small clown tang over the weekend and it is not eating Nori, Formula 1 or 2 or Mysis shrimp. Fish is healthly but will die shortly if I can not find live macro algae. Is any one willing to sell any macro algae?
Chaeto doesn't tend to be good for food. It seems to be a bit too tough. I'd suggest hitting a local beach (on the Sound side) at low tide and collecting a few small green hair algae covered rocks. The algae is enteromorpha which is very tasty and nutritious
I have an unlimited amount of "pods" (amphipods etc) that grow in among the sponges and "muck" that grow in my filters at work. They are really easy to scoop out, I am having to siphon them out all the time. Also have tons of natural live (whitish/ugly) sponge. Too bad I don't have any picky eaters! You are welcome to it (anyone). (Located in Stony Brook).
The algae idea is good too (Bill)
While you are rounding up the macro algae, I suggest you keep placing the nori in clip. Eventually, the Tang should accept the nori and you won't have to keep looking for fresh macro algae.
my clown tang was 2 inches big when i got it. I feed it whatever flakes and pellets i have lying around and also some nori from time to time. Other than that it picks at whatever algae i have along with the 6 other tangs LOL If only the tang police knew......
