Bought another tank, 125
setting the 125 running now with a new sump.
want to grow macro alge to help keep nitrates down.
Question: the sump is a 40 breeder how much sand/substrate should i use in the bottom??
Tank was running with origional 30 gallon sump with bio balls
Live rock in this tank (125) is around 240 lbs.
so I,m going to hook up the new sump with a mag 12.
run overflow out of the back of the sump it is drilled at top on both ends. run this into current 30 gallon sump and return to the 40 gallon breeder with a mag7.
The plan is to pull the bio balls out over a 2 week period.
and then remove the satalite sump off the 40 gal sump.
Does that sound like a good plan ???
what should i run in the bottom of the sump ( plan is sand)
and if this sounds right how much ? and what type ?
