I am wanting to make a kalk reactor for my tank and need some 4" Clear PVC. If anyone has about 1'-2' that they could part with that would be great. Or if someone is going to order some and wants to split the minimum 10' sections.

Aquatic Eco you order by foot.

is there anyone local that sells it? I havent been by Rockin Reef yet... or John do you happen to have any? it would be a great excuse for me to make it up there.

i do have some drop pieces ryan.they are about 11.5"long but they have a 4"x2"reduser coupling glued to them.if you want some let me know.you can have a couple for free.

Chris,

i see visions of a 180g 48"x36"x25"

What company makes that tank? That would be a great size....

Are the drop pieces you have from you reactor project? I wish I had a continous make up water source if so I would get one and make a reactor too. Oh, well.

Cheers,
Chris

I would love to have some, that would be awesome. THANKS!
I called your work today, and they told me that they dont cut pieces, all they sell are 10'.

yeah they wont cut it for a couple of feet unless you buy the whole stick.we dont use it alot so we dont cut it much.let me know when you want to come get it.
gunter glasscages makes that size tank stock, but i think im going to make my own 180 from acrylic.

CheckinHawk,

If I had your skills and access to the tools, I too would make my own acrylic tank. A 48" x 36" tank would be awesome!!!

If you start that project, you have to post a thread on it.

Cheers,
Chris

i will do a build thread if and when i build the tank.i still want to practice some more glueing 3/4"thick acrylic before i commit $700 for sheet.hell i may even try to mount a tunze wavebox externally somehow.im sure it can be done with an acrylic tank.

Chris, what would be better to seal the end off, acrylic or pvc. also if acrylic what would I use to bind it?

You can't find PVC that's going to fit 4" acrylic, you have to use acrylic. You use weld-on 4 as a first choice to attach acrylic to acrylic, I've used 16 also. If your cuts are not exect then 16 and 40 are good choices.

pvc will bond best.you can use regular pvc glue.you can use acrylic for the base but you would need weld-on#40 to get a good seal.
