Gotcha. Yeah, getting them is actually pretty easy; if youve got a decent LFS around you, I can pretty much guarantee that their coral availability list will have Dendro. on it.
Most stores dont carry them regularly anymore because they have finally realized that its just not worth having around. I can only think of maybe half a dozen people worldwide who have had some kind of long term success with those corals- being brought in to captivity is a essentially a death sentence unfortunately. Just a suggestion for you, if you want to try something nonphotosynthetic, go for Chili Coral- Nephthyigorgia sp- as their diet and basic requirements are understood much better. Unless you are equipped to study Dendros in a formal way, youll only be able to enjoy the coral for a month or so before watching it wither away from starvation.
