anyone have a decent hob skimmer

IMHO they are not worth spending money on them. I've never had one work like it should. I'd just spend the extra money on a good skimmer like an ASM/Euro/Octopuss/Deltect/MRC ect... But that's just IMHO I'm sure there are other's who've have luck with a HOB skimmer somewhere out there.

Reason im looking for a hob is i have a 55 that cannot be drilled and dont want to use a external overflow. I have been told the remora hob and the octupuss hobs are pretty decent

Get a Remora Pro with Mag 3 pump. Should work like a charm. You'll also need a bubble trap since the Mag 3 will put out a lot of bubbles.
