Hello to all,

I'm looking for another kalk reactor for my other system. I really like the mrc reactors but am open to other brands. If you have one for sale please pm me and let me know.

Thanks!

Sorry for hijacking this post, but I was just curious on how does a kalk reactor works. I'm helping my friend doing some research on this, because his calcium levels are low and he's tired of dosing kalk everyday. If any of you guys can explain clearly on how does this reactor operate and the connection and accessories needed for this reactor, I'll probably persuade him to buy a reactor from you guys. :D

A kalk reactor is used in conjunction with an autotopoff system. Basically you run your autotopoff through the kalkreactor so that all of your topoff is supersaturated kalk.

What he needs is the calcium reactor which uses co2 to melt the medias that will give him the ca. and alkalinity he needs, but ca reactor tends to drag the tank's ph down so kalk reactor works along with ca reactor to help keeping ph from falling below 8.0.

So, can you run straight off from your ro/di unit to the reactor? If so, do you need a pump to do so or the ro/di unit will have enough pressure to go through the reactor and then to the sump.

OK my MRC unit is going to Jendub

I do have a very large pump driven unit. It works fine, but I personally don't like the grinding noise that pump units make after awhile--if someone is interested in that give me a PM.

Hey Chuck,

What brand is the pump-driven unit? I prefer the mrc for sure but would like to check that other one out, sounds interesting =)
