wtb: koralia 2

Thanks Benjie, that's a good idea. I love the idea of a wavemaker with 2 pumps, but holy cow! It aint cheap! But if anybody has a koralia thyey want to part with, lemme know!

The controller isn't cheap but the powerheads are, which sets it apart from the tunze's and the vortech's

True. Have you used them? It's for my 40 b, and I was thinking that two would be nice to create some turbulance, but I'm not sure if I should get K1's, or K2's. Any insight?

I would go with 2's. I am using a 1 in my 14 gallon and that creates nice flow. I was going to use the nano and I am glad I went one size higher.

Thanks Tom. Somebody's got two 1's for a nice price, but if it won't be enough flow, then I'll have to hold off for the 2's.

I figure about 30x turnover for a mixed reef, w/ sps being in a higher flow area. For a SPS dominated tank I'd go as high as 60x turnover. So, your looking for something around 1200gph for turn over. I'd go w/ 2xkoralia 2's at least. I feel that flow is often under utilized, you need to realize that water is basically used for coral respiration. Also as you increase light you increase respiration, and thus need to increase flow. As long as your corals don't look ticked off put as much flow as possible into your tanks.

My tank is also primarily LPS and softies. I have 3 or 4 SPS, so I'm not quite as concerned with flow. But, I want to make sure there are no dead spots, and I want good enough movement to ensure everybody is happy.
