Is there any local places that sell a MAG 18.
If not what is the best online company to get one.
My skimmer pump is dead and i am using a underpowered Quiet one.

How is the Quiet One working on your skimmer? I'm thinking about trying one on my skimmer.

Other than it being under-powered, anyway.

There is something to be said with having adequate head pressure. I am just use to seeing my skimmer working like crazy and its not right now the quiet one is rated at an adequate flow rate but isnt pressure rated (as far as i kniw) i think a pump that wont back down or slow down signifivantly when under stress is important And the quiet one isn't very quiet. My mag12 is quieter.

Gotcha, man. Are you running this on a becket skimmer?

Mine is just a recirc, so very little head. I think I may try a Quiet One on my skimmer just because they're fairly easy to find.

Not sure what you are using now, but I have an extra one or two Quite One 3000's available for sale. 1 used for two weeks and the other for only 5 months.

Devon, The Mag pumps IME run hotter than QO's Maybe you just got a bad one! I have used them for years with no issues and prefer over Mags. The name say's it all Quiet One!!!
