No seriously, they dont buy fish from the wholesaler anymore.
The one in Porter Ranch has connections with a breeder. He provides most inverts/and all clownfish.
The yellow tangs are all eating and dont have ich, Some guy Ed treats all fish when they get into Petco.
Ive seen tangs get ich coming from clean tanks to others.
Petco, Porter Ranch.
They have very little quantity when they do come in every thursday, but like I said all fish come in darn healthy!

The Petco by me has a nice selection of fish, (for a non-fish specific pet store chain).
All of their fish are from ORA. The worker in the store claimed none of their fish are ever from the wild. I don't know if that is a corporate policy or just the polciy of the Petco near me.
However often times, the fish in their tanks are showing signs of Ich or other problems.

Mike ur right. But I never said the tangs were tank bred. Petco has changed their policies and most of us are still bangin on em.The fish are then medicated for obvious signs of disease and are fed flakes and pellets before they put them out on display.
You probably wont see a tang reproduce in captivity simply because the eggs that the female lay are at the surface of the water and are at night. They just float...Hello overflow Mmmmmm!!!!!!!
