Hey guys im looking for a splash guard for my 6 bulb ati unit. I threw mine away when i got it not knowing what it was for. If you have one please let me know

take a few measurements and have an acrylic shop cut ya a piece or maybe **** depot or blowes. Shouldn't cost that much.

I can see where there the splash guard may help with the cooling by creating, say a negative pressure inside the fixture pulling the hot air out. Where an open fixture the fans just pull out what is right below them.

I though about that, since I got ahold of ati North and they quoted me 50 bucks+shipping for it.

Keep reading that is must to run since it prolongs bulb life and increases par. Also that it affects the cooling system if you do use it, which makes no sense.

I have read the same thing, but I have a fan running across the top of my tank that blows on the bulbs anyway. Plus my ATI fans dont work anyway for the active cooling lol

I left it off primarily because the tank is in the closet and its a PITA to change slide in and out

Same issue here Sean. I mean I would have to take out the whole unit out of the closet every time just to even change a bulb.. guess it stays of.
