I have a 1/20 HP Snail Fan I am looking to sell, its great for moving air in a canopy or anywhere else. Let me know if your interested...

I am also willing trade for nice or large frags....

Wouldn't know what to offer without a pic. No statement above about age, or condition or anything. FWIW RC rules say you are supposed to post a price on all for sale items. Not that it bothers me, but just thought i would tell ya before a mod does lol.

I think the fact that I am willing ot trade covers my behind... I will see if I can get pictures up, if you are interested in condition you are welcome to stop by. I don't know anything about these.

Could you give us a better idea of the condition, age and what you are looking for in trade?

I don't particularly want to waste a couple of hours driving to Orlando and back to have a "look".

offer: I'll give you a dollar if you deliver it to Ormond Beach. :D

make that $63 each new...

Honestly I have no idea how to tell how old this is... I don't even know how to use one though so I wouldn't be able to tell you its condition. Outwardly it looks fine, no damage to it that I can see.

Whoever wants to take it can come check it out and try it out if they wish before making the trade or payment.

I have a similar exhaust fan on my 220 moving air over the sump and lighting. The intake fits a 4" dryer hose and is enough to run all the air circulation on a big tank..

they do make a bit of noise.....not quite as much as my chiller, and if you shoved the fan under the stand or in a cabinet and ran the dryer hose, you can quiet it down a bunch. The 3 four inch fans in the canopy of my 125G are almost as loud as my snail fan....only the snail fan is over 200CFM.

Mr crab....if you're only running 250W halides over your tank....you probably wouldn't need a chiller. Make sure it's on a timer or thermostat though, cause when the lights are off the tank can get to below room temperature....you'd be working the heaters much harder at night.

Thanks D. Can't see myself heading over to o town just to have a look. I will be doing something like this though. I haven't needed a chiller at all and my setup's been running a year. I've got a Grainger down the street from me the money I save on gas will make up for the difference.

The suggestions you made are very good especially the info on the dryer exhaust. I have a ranco dual controller for the fan. I've been using clip on 7" wal-mart fans so far but want to change the setup a bit.

I saw it myself at his house. It looks brand new....and works fine. I think I paid about 80 bucks for mine new, and I've had it for over 3 years now. Its kinda bulky......the 4" dryer hose fits over the round side which is actually the inlet. They move a ton of air!

That's the best I can tell you. It's not some ragged out piece of crap on it's death bed. I'd trade some frags, or drop 40 bucks no sweat if I didn't already have one. It's not really something for a small system though. I have mine so that it sucks the hot air out my canopy and blows it toward my ceiling fan......Not only does it help cool off the tank, but it keeps the tank area from becoming a hot spot. Before I cranked it up, it got pretty warm on that side with the halides and chiller running
