i have a very healthy yellow eye kole tang looking to trade for a tang hungry for greens. or any other fish will to eat calurpa

hippo? no kidding, There more of a meaty eater then algae so I thought. Mine doesn't touch greens, just meaty food.

my tang is supose to eat greens but eats every thing else.. brime, mysis all of it. foxface would b cool, what ever u guys have n willing to trade

I agree with the suggestion of a Foxface. Mine decimated everything green in my frag tank in about 1 week. Cleaned about 2/3 of a 220 gallon reef before going carpet surfing.

yeah, thats the only other problem i'm afraid of. i have alot of green singulara. afraid it will consume that too

My Yellow Tang blew through an outbreak of of Bryopsis a long time ago. You can usually find them for cheap too... I think I only paid $20 or $30 for him from the LFS.

I had a Tomini, Powder Blue, and Yellow... and my display was algae free. They pretty much grazed on the rocks 24/7.

Purple Tangs are also supposed to go nuts on algae, but they cost significantly more.

IMO you'd be best served going with a Yellow Tang or Foxface Rabbitfish. People seem to have the most luck with them, and they usually don't cost that much.

What Tj said. My Powder Blue, and Yellow keeps my tank spotless. I had just gotten a frag from Joe22883 that had some algae on it. As soon as I put that sucker in my tank, it was cleaned in about a minute.

right now, i'm considering trading the kole for a scribble rabbit fish. if that doesnt work then i'm going after a foxface.

Don't forget to do a bit of research. Rabbitfish are venomous and we don't want to see you going to the hospital because you didn't realize that :)
I have had one for a couple years and just try to avoid sticking my hand anywhere near him.

I'm sure that will be one of the items that Steven Pro will discuss at our meeting on the 16th about venomous and poisonous things in our tanks.

Scribbled and Spotted Rabbitfish are more of a gamble than the FoxFace in a Reef.

I think Kevin had luck with a Scribbled, but when I was doing my initial research, there seemed to be a lot of people with not so great luck. So in the end I opted for the Yellow Tang.
